I am currently enrolled in a Certificate Program of Spanish/English-English/Spanish Translation at the Glendon College of York University in Toronto, ON. I hold a Bilingual Bachelor of Honors degree in Hispanic Studies at the same institute.
I currently have no professional experience in Translation but I am willing to do work for free to expand my network and validate my expertise while building a portfolio. My passions lie in fiction and non-fiction literature, history and politics.
I am a linguist at heart and self-identify as a 'wordsmith'. Having been raised in a bilingual home I developed an obsession for language, writing and self expression. This interest followed me to high school where I was compelled to study French and Spanish simultaneously in a predominantly Anglophone town, Exeter, ON. On a 10 day school trip to Spain and France in 2006 my dream to have a multilingual career and future was solidified and I continued to pursue my language studies at University.
Glendon College is the bilingual campus of York University and is a renowned platform and training ground for all aspiring translators, interpreters and language teachers.
My personal/professional background includes sales and marketing, a personal blog, and freelance English writing gigs.
