I started translating to allow my friends who didn't speak English to read some interesting articles I encountered on the Internet in the late 90s.

I was offered my first professional translation job in 2000: subtitles to a tv series.

As I was actually a software engineer, I translated as a supporting job/hobby until 2008. In 2008, I started working with translation agencies, and thanks to my speed, accuracy and quality of translation, I started being offered more jobs than I could handle.

I've been working as a professional translator/interpreter ever since.

Although I prefer academic articles and positive-science related documents, I had to learn and translate legal documents (contracts, court documents, etc.) since they constitute the bulk of the translation business in Turkey. I have been translating legal documents since 2009. I also have experience as an interpretor in corporate meetings and conferences.

I am a prolific reader and I have an insatiable curiosity for many subjects including [but not limited to :)] all positive sciences (chief among them: cognitive sciences, chemistry, physics, mathematics, linguistics and botany), everything computer/technology-related and social sciences (archaeology and history first, then sociology and psychology).

I have been reading about the subjects that tickle my curiosity for over 15 years and I am as specialized at most of them as to discuss literature with academicians, which helps with translation, of course.

Moreover I am an avid fiction reader, 'specializing' in science and fantastic fiction.

I am an amateur musician and have been playing the guitar for 20, clarinet for 5 years.
