Experience
Years of experience: 6. Registered at ProZ.com: Oct 2015. Became a member: Oct 2015.
I am a literary translator working from Swedish and Russian into English, with a focus on contemporary fiction, children's fiction and drama. I hold an MA in translation theory and practice (the Scandinavian languages, Russian and French into English, UCL, 2014), and in 2015 I was awarded the British Centre for Literary Translation’s Emerging Translator mentorship for Russian, working alongside Robert Chandler.
I was one of the translator's of Maxim Osipov's Rock, Paper, Scissors and other stories (NYRB, 2019), and my literary translations have also appeared in Swedish Book Review, Asymptote Journal, Lit Hub, Image journal and Litro magazine. I have also worked on a healthy mix of children's and non-fiction texts, including Igor Ryzov's The Kremlin School of Negotiation (Canongate, 2019) and a selection of children's books for Yasen & Book in Russia (2017-19).
Alongside my translation work, I review for Swedish Book Review, Glasgow Review of Books and the European Literature Network. I am a member of the Translators Association and the Swedish-English Literary Translators' Association (SELTA).
Having lived in Moscow, Uppsala, Stockholm and Paris, London is currently home.
