I am an experienced translator. In 1988, I began studying and translating Dutch to English. I have experience translating documents to English freelance in the fields of Medicine, Law, Engineering, Technical, Business and all other areas of general nature.  I use the Swordfish CAT tool.  I can import and work with Trados TTX, XLIFF, tagged RTF, Wordfast TXML, HTML, Word, and PDF files. 

Translation Education 

Native English speaker

Blackfoot High School Diploma including advanced English plus 2 years German coursework.

Brigham Young University - Two month accelerated Dutch language training at language training center, subsequent 2-year Netherlands resident with daily study of Dutch with travel throughout the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, France and Mexico.  Sixty credits including English, German, history, political science, economics, psychology, physical/biological/mathematical science accredited coursework. Three years secondary and postsecondary German study, a language similar to Dutch. 

Career Step - Vocational training in medical editing and medical coding.

Study and completion of Rosetta Stone Levels 1-5 - Dutch

Industry AHDI RHDS certification in Medicine. 

Translation Experience 

Medicine - (MT, RHDS) Experience with medical translations including experience preparing medical records requiring medical language specialization for hospitals, clinics and doctor offices (Nuance) including translations of medical documents, clinical trials and medical research. 

Processing & Fees 

Use of Swordfish III CAT (Computer Aided Translation) tool for speed and accuracy of translation.  

Translation - $0.07/word | $20/page

Payment via PayPal upon receipt of invoice on delivery of translation.
