I am British, from the north of England, though I am not
rooted to a particular area as my childhood was spent living in different places
and countries, including Sierra Leone and New Zealand.
I became interested in languages through travel. My first
foreign language was German, and I moved on to study Italian and Spanish at
university in Wales. Currently, I only translate from Spanish to English.
I moved to Seville after university, in the nineties, to
teach English. After several years, I decided to swop city life for the coast
and relocated to the Costa de la Luz. I started volunteer translating while
recovering from an injury and then decided to translate full time in 2016,
after realising that working from home was ideal for me.
I work mainly with agencies in Spain.
This year I started working as an interpreter for local
courts and police stations, primarily for English-speaking detainees.
I am a general translator and work with a wide variety of
subject areas. However, I avoid technical, legal and medical translations.
