I am a MA student of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, currently very close to graduating with a degree in translation and interpreting. My mother language is Hungarian, and I do Hungarian to English, English to Hungarian and German to Hungarian translations. I work as a freelance translator currently, but I also have plans of entering the market for full-time employment in the field of translation or other language-related work after graduating.
My previous education had a strong focus on the English language and culture, and also includes studies in German language and culture, programming and information technology, business, marketing, communication and multimodality. As a result, I possess excellent background knowledge in these fields, giving me a significant advantage when working on related translations. I also have one year of experience working as an external translator for a translation firm, where I have been working mostly on jobs related to IT, marketing and tech/engineering. I use memoQ for all my translation work (unless otherwise required by the client), but I have also studied SDL Trados on a basic level and I am looking to obtain a subscription in the future.
As my tagline hints, I am precise and uncompromising when it comes to working and the quality of work I do. I only hand in my work when I have made sure it has been perfected to the best of my knowledge and ability - without letting this impact my adherence to deadlines, of course.
On a personal level, I am not too outgoing, but enjoy the company of close friends, in person or over the internet. I am a very "online" person and spend a large portion of my free time with computer-related activities. I deeply enjoy music, as well as the visual arts and reading. Furtherly, I am interested in science, world politics and social issues.
