Bio
Born and raised in a bilingual Russian\Ukrainian
family under the Soviet Union I recieved English Language and Spanish Language University
Education. I graduated from Taras Shevchenko Kiev State University in 1985. I
hold a BA in English Language and a MA in Spanish Language and Literature and
Military Translation. (Diploma – МВ -1 №020384). After having worked as an English Foreign Language high school teacher for 27 years I decided to resign from school and
make a fresh start as a freelance translator. I started as a volunteer and
applied for participation in the Project of translation of The Rogue Warrior by Richard Marcinko into Ukrainian. The project was done by the Ukrainian newspaper Censor.net in 2014. I also participated in
proofreading of the mentioned above book.

I have had a considerable experience of interacting
with native English speakers from the USA and Great Britain as an interpreter. From 2007 to 2016 I served as an interpreter for International School Project many times.  In
2010 I completed Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program in Montana State
University. While working as an English Language teacher in high school I
presented in three TESOL international conferences (TESOL 42nd Annual
Convention and Exhibit (2008), TESOL Arabia 15th Annual Conference (2009),
TESOL Arabia 18th Annual Conference (20012).

During the last two years and I participated in the
translation project of the International Bible Commentary into Ukrainian held
by Svichado Publishing House. The collaboration lasted from July, 2015 to
December, 2017. During that period of time I translated several hundreds of
pages of texts with theological content from English into Ukrainian. The texts
translated by myself have been included in volumes 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the
International Bible Commentary which is being prepared to be published in the
near future. I also translated some detective stories from Russian into American
English.

Apart from participating in translation projects from
English into Ukrainian/Russian and vice versa I have been giving English
private lessons on Skype.

I am interested in distant work (translation projects,
giving English lessons on Skype, etc.).

You can be assured of my sincerity, punctuality and
dedication. I can provide references from my previous employer that will vouch
for my competence.
