Mar 23 (posted viaProZ.com): I am finishing the subtitles transcription and translation POR-ENG of an amazing documentary called 'Women, art and resistance'. I'm very glad to work with social journalism again!...more, + 1 other entry »
Before anything else, I am a brazilian woman that LOVES her mother language, Portuguese, called by a poet 'the last flower from Lacio'.
I am also a Food Engineer, a Master in Food Science (Food biotechnology) and a Specialist on Food Safety and Quality Management - all diplomas obtained in the University of Campinas (Unicamp), which is considered the best university in the whole Latin America.
I have been living in different countries for the last 15 years (United Arab Emirates, Holland, Spain and Italy) and now I have settled down in the south east of UK, in Ashford. I have used this unique experience of live to enjoy and learn all possible cultural aspects of these beautiful places I lived in, specially the languages I speak nowadays: Portuguese(first love!), English, Italian and Spanish.
I have been a freelance translator since 2011 and have a large experience in translation of technical (manuals, CV, cientific articles) and non-technical texts, website and software contents (IT and automotive areas) and audio-visual subtitling (videos, documentaries, lectures etc.). I am also editor and proof-reader of texts in (Brazilian) Portuguese.
My main interests right now are on the 'art of subtitling', as I find in it an amazing, varied and fun area of translation/localization of contents. And in social journalism, translating articles, blogs and authors focused on social issues.
