Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, I completed all my education in Denmark and was successfully working toward completing an MD/PhD at University of Copenhagen when I was invited to work on a Medical Research project in the United States.
While working with the research team in the US, I met my future husband - and I have lived in the US ever since. After raising our kids, I returned to school and obtained a graduate degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. Coursework included a number of graduate level classes in translation.
I was subsequently hired as a lecturer at the University of Washington where I taught classes in English/American Literature, Danish, Scandinavian Literature, and Environmental Studies.
I have since worked in the private sector as HR Manager and Business Manager, pursuing literature and translations part time.
