Bio
I am a PORT>ENG translator, interpreter and copywriter with 13 years experience, currently based in Florida. Originally from the United States, I hail from an international family and spent my teens and early twenties living in Brazil, then spent five years living in Mozambique before coming back "home.” I hold an MBA in Marketing and a BA in Portuguese.
My career as a freelance translator started with the World Bank while living in Africa. I translated technical papers on topics including infrastructure development, natural resources management and poverty reduction. I also worked with multiple NGOs translating reports and proposals for programs in agriculture, public health and tourism.
After moving back to the US, I broadened my focus to include translating and copywriting for corporate clients, both directly and via agencies. I provide ongoing services to clients in Brazil, Africa, Europe and the US, in sectors such as health and beauty, luxury goods, tourism and entrepreneurship.
As an interpreter, I provide consecutive interpreting services both in person and over the phone. I work mostly in corporate and educational settings. I bring great cultural sensitivity and diplomacy to my work, and enjoy the challenge of facilitating communication in real time.
