Renzo Piano is the brilliant mind behind some of the most visually arresting buildings of the past few decades — The New York Times Building in Manhattan, London's The Shard, and the Pompidou Museum in Paris, to name a few.
Now the architect has completed an ambitious project on a smaller scale, called "Diogene": a tiny house prototype built for the German furniture company Vitra.
According to Vitra, Diogene is a "voluntary place of retreat" that is entirely self-sufficient. The house collects, cleans, and reuses water, and supplies its own power. Features include solar panels fitted to the roof, a rainwater tank, a biological toilet, natural ventilation, triple-glazed windows and insulated walls that can withstand temperatures from minus 10 degrees to 105 degrees Fahrenheit.

A recent study by the United Nations World Tourism Organization revealed that 83 million people visited La Belle France last year, even more than its own population of 66 million. The lure of Alpine ski stations and Mediterranean resorts ensure that France has kept its top spot for every year that statistics have been produced. France attracts at least 16 million more visitors than the United States in second place, with China, Spain and Italy completing the top five most visited countries.
Yet despite its overwhelming popularity as a holiday destination, it seems that the French have a problem convincing visitors to part with their cash. Tourism contributes 7% towards the country's gross domestic product, more than the car industry. But the average amount of money every visitor spends - US $646 (£423) - lags way behind every other country in the top 10 most visited countries.

Greater openness towards flexible working has been a positive outcome of the recession, according to a report released today by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation's (REC) Flexible Work Commission.
The report highlighted increased use of freelancers, interims and temporary workers, together with a growing "projectisation" of work – where organisations hire expertise in on a project-by-project basis rather than sticking to rigid employment contracts.
It said: 'The ability to respond quickly to fluctuations in demand is paramount to business survival. Employment rigidity is a significant barrier to such responsiveness and was a very real factor in the collapse of many organisations, and with them the loss of tens of thousands of jobs.'

Bullying in schools has become an issue of major concern among educators. However, interventions to reduce bullying have enjoyed only modest success. This article examines different theoretical perspectives on understanding bullying and their implications. The approaches discussed here relate to developmental features, individual differences, a sociocultural perspective, group and peer pressure, and bullying from the perspective of restorative justice.

Translation - English
Prior to characterizing this period, it should be noted that the geological structure of the territory of Bulgaria is due to the repeated occurrence of geotectonic events, varying in time, intensity, mechanism, kinematics, magmatism, metamorphism, structure formation, etc. throughout the history of the Earth and, more precisely, during the last ca. 300 Ma. This time is known as the Alpine tectonic cycle and is related to the development of the Alpine-Himalayan orogenic belt, the evolution of the Palaeo-Tethys Ocean, its formation and its subsequent closure through subduction under the Eurasian plate, and the northward movement of the African plate.
In fact, these processes bear no direct relation to the study of the Neolithic settlements, but some patterns in their distribution and migration (at least now known) show a certain attachment to territories with specific geological and geomorphological characteristics, with synchronous occurrence of events and construction, and, respectively, with similar processes of relief formation and relief features during most recent time.
