Source text - English Her Majesty the Queen has broken almost every royal record; she’s reigned longer, visited more places and met more people than any British monarch. But now she’s marking a milestone of a more personal kind.
To actually reach the age of ninety is an astonishing achievement I think.
I’ve been asking her for years what her secret is, she won’t tell me.
I think ninety years, that’s, that’s, that’s a big one to celebrate.
The fact that she is still working, she still has the passion, it, it is extraordinary.
She inspires me every day.
To celebrate this special birthday we’ve enjoyed privileged access to the most famous woman in the world. We followed the Queen at work.
I’ve just been watching you on television.
Oh.
And we’ve seen her relaxing too.
Who else is riding at ninety? I mean that’s what’s so incredible.
This is a prima donna this one, I don’t know whether you noticed her looking at you as much as to say do I look alright.
Everyone may have their own impression of the Queen.
We all look for role models, we all look for leaders, I’m privileged and, and proud that we have the number one leader.
She’s got a sense of humour, I know that.
If we open the door do you think there’s anybody there?
But this is the Queen as seen by the people who know her best, her family.
The Queen is somebody who has been there, done it, um got the t-shirt.
I have no idea where she gets her energy from, I need to, I need to go and I think ask a few, few more questions.
She put up with all of us, that’s quite an achievement I think.
Buckingham Palace, royal headquarters, the Queen’s working day is beginning. But after a stormy night her thoughts are with a member of staff.
I meant to ask Christopher whether his roof had come off.

The Queen is presenting a Long Service Medal to a member of the Palace fire crew; it’s a personal thank you for years of dedicated service.

I left the London Fire Brigade in 1995 in the July and joined the Household in the October of that same year.
It’s a Long and Faithful Service Medal for working for the Royal Household for the last twenty years so it’s a memorable occasion for me as I’m, er getting quite aged now. It’s, er choking, just the presence of being with the Queen gives you that ah, you know, it’s now thinking about it, yeah.
The incoming and outgoing Colonels of The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, your Majesty.
Oh.
There are no Long and Faithful Service Medals for being Queen, if so she’d have received one long ago. She is now our longest lived and longest reigning monarch.
