Simple, Customized. It sounds so easy. The
current situation on the internet shows however, that this is not the case.
Many texts on websites, are badly translated from or to the English language.
ManuScripta was borne out of my desire to improve this situation.
always been a major part of my life. In my early youth I enjoyed reading a lot,
and thankfully I never stopped. In fact, I based my decision for my major on
this, because if there is one thing that is critical to the study of history it
is reading, writing and interpreting many texts.
I have another great passion: travelling. Before starting my bachelor of
history at the University of Utrecht, I worked and travelled for a year in
New-Zealand and Australia. After completing my bachelor, I was ready for
another challenge abroad. After travelling through South-America for a year, I
therefore decided to go to the University of Reading in the United Kingdom for
my master's degree. These, and many other foreign experiences, in combination
with my love for sports in general, and American football in particular, have
led to me always having one leg in Dutch, and the other leg in English-American
culture. This has led to me becoming a very versatile English-Dutch translator. So request your quote now, because I can’t wait to commence
with your text!
The word manuscript is derived from Latin,
and means as much as “hand written”. For
many people it brings to mind images of medieval documents which were written
with attention, precision and skill. Nowadays it is uncommon to fully write
texts by hand. The majority of people view this as an improvement, but the
mechanization of writing has also led to the disappearance of a certain quality
from texts. Many of the current translation- and/or text agencies are big
machines, where business is handled quickly and routinely, but the human touch
is absent from the produced documents.
The objective of
ManuScripta is to do this differently. This obviously does not mean that
documents will be processed by hand, but it does imply that a text will receive
a similar level of scrutiny equal to the amount a medieval writer would have
paid to his manuscript. This makes sense
because, like the medieval author, ManuScripta has only one real shot to
satisfactorily put your text to paper.
Because of this,
ManuScripta will always strive to have a brief and to the point discussion
about your wishes (e.g. tone, keywords, goal) before processing a particular
text. ManuScripta will always finalize your projects quickly and to full
satisfaction by working according to the maxim Simple, Customized.
