My working method

I love translating. I'm passionate about transcreating the original meaning in my beloved mother tongue, and the words "lost in translation" break my heart. But I'm not a purist at all costs.

I can work pretty fast (250-300 WPH), but I'm obsessed with details, and quality always comes first and foremost.

I use CAT tools (mainly Trados and Memsource) when useful/required, but I like original and fresh translations.

I have the greatest respect for anybody's time, therefore I keep my communications to the minimum necessary. But I'm always available to discuss any needed matters via chat/Skype/email.

I'm willing to take test translation(s) for free (I know that for someone this is a controversial matter, but I also know that, sometimes, the more interesting is the project, the lower is the budget :)

About me

I’ve never stopped studying and working with EnglishFrench, and Spanish since my baccalaureat as a Foreign Languages Correspondent, but I approached the world of translation in 2009 (by chance!) as an interpreter when I began to travel around Western Europe to help my partner to communicate with locals and clients from different countries.

In 2011, the translation platform gave me the opportunity to transform this new experience into a real job (while keep traveling) as a pro-level translator and proofreader from English to Italian. I still work with them on a daily basis (websites/software localization, document translation, video subtitling, and more).

In 2013, since my elderly parents began to need some help, I lived back in Milano and started to focus more and more on my path as a translator, regularly working with customers like Amazon Europe and Viator (Tripadvisor).

In 2016 I began volunteering at Global Voices, a non-profit project started at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School, translating articles from English, French, and Spanish into Italian.

In 2017 I got my Hermes Number (H23490425), but I’ve never actually worked for them (Netflix subtitling platform)

Having now achieved a very satisfying work/life balance, I've decided to accept only new assignments related to the subjects of the Research** I've been conducting for many years, namely:

Philosophies (ancient, modern and contemporary)

Religions (of all time and all beliefs)

... and their correlations with science (Quantum Physics/Mechanics, Astrophysics, GeneticsAnthropologyOntogenesis/Phylogenesis, ...) and with Holistic disciplines (Yoga, TM and other Meditation practices, Mindfulness, Reiki, Ayurveda, MTC, Psychosomatics, Naturopathy, ...)

I can honestly consider myself quite an expert in the lexicon of these areas and I'm always passionate about deepening my knowledge and learning new stuff!

**My life’s passion

After my baccalaureat as a Foreign Language Correspondent, I was admitted to the International University of Languages and Media of Milan (ranking 8th/600 in my entrance tests) but after the first year I realized that, despite my good results, it was not my Path.

For that reason, I started to study Philosophy at the University of Milan, and I soon began to work on my thesis in Epistemology, titled “Ancient cosmogonies and quantum physics: different languages for the same concepts?

It’s been clear from the beginning that it would be quite an endless research and that, for me, it wouldn’t be just a way to get a graduation.

Thereafter, instead of completing my university and getting my philosophy degree, I got myself a job (as a Junior Buyer at Viking O.P. - Office Depot) and parallelly, by following the course of my research, I attended the Faculty of Psychology (University of Turin), the School of Natural Medicine RIZA (in Milan), and the School of Naturopathy Lumen (in Piacenza).

As part of my research, I have also studied dozens of scientific books and publications (especially related to quantum physics/mechanics, astrophysics, genetics, anthropology, ontogenesis/phylogenesis, etc.), and almost all of the Sacred texts (Hebrew, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist, Toltec, etc.).

And the research continues...
