Source text - Norwegian (Bokmal) Forventningens tid
Varme solstråler kjennes mot kinnene
Selv vinden kjennes myk og varmere
Måkeskrikene er tilbake
Fuglende er to og to
De nakne trærne fylles med knopper
Det som før var brunt begynner
å livne til med grønt
Den mørke jorda fylles med spirer
som kjemper seg opp
Det er forventning i luften
Livet begynner på nytt
Og slik som våren er vitnesbyrdet
om ny tid, ny kraft, nytt liv
Kjenner jeg hvordan inspirasjonen smitter
I min kamp, mitt liv, legger jeg vinteren bak
og ser på øyeblikket
Jeg er så velsignet
jeg har Skaperen på min side
Ingen smerte, uvisshet eller motgang
kan ta fra meg den sannheten
Så med øyne som ser våren
kjenner jeg kreftene komme
Det er forventning i mitt liv
Translation - Norwegian (Bokmal) Time of Expectation
I feel the warmth of sun rays on my cheeks
the wind feels soft and warm
the seagulls are back, I hear their shrieks
the birds in pairs greet the dawn
the bare branches are full of buds
the green takes over
the brown retreats
the murky soil brings forth the sprouts
just waiting to be released
The air’s filled with expectation
New life begins
While Spring’s a witness
of new time, new strength, new life
I feel the inspiration fill my heart
my struggles and my life
I leave the winter’s cold behind
and watch the moment as it passes by
I am so blessed
my Creator’s here with me
no pain, no darkness or adversity
can take away this truth
so with the eyes of Spring
I see my strength returning
My life is filled with expectation …again…

Experienced Translator and Transcriber (English/Latvian/Norwegian)
I am an experienced project manager, translator and transcriber, with a demonstrated history of working in the translation and book printing industry. Skilled in Translation, Norwegian, Transcription, English, and Virtual Assistance. Linguistically competent and quality-conscious professional. I will be able to provide both a high-quality transcription and a quick and accurate translation of your materials.
If you hire me, I promise a high-quality result, accuracy and on-time delivery, since I have excellent written communication, good listening skills, ability to understand the wider context and create meaning in the target language, including the ability to work under pressure and follow instructions, and deliver quality results with attention to details and within the agreed upon time frame.
My native language is Latvian, which I learned from early childhood as a primary means of communication. I also have a native-like level of proficiency in both English and Norwegian, with a good command of both colloquial and written English and Norwegian, acquired both through professional and personal experience. My primary working languages are English, Norwegian, Latvian, but I can also translate from Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Danish into Norwegian, Latvian and English.
Though I am capable of translating many forms of communication, including technical, medical, legal and advertising, I especially enjoy work on prose, poetry and motivational writings. I also have a strong background and interest in the fields of business, psychology, religion, pedagogy, education, and literature. I have also worked as a project manager of Norwegian book projects for almost ten years and as a freelance translator for Acme Films, Agape and for various translation agencies in Latvia.
I am passionate about books and reading, and I try to read one book a month in at least one of the foreign languages that I work with the most. I carry books around with me and read whenever I have a chance. My last major translation project was translation of a book of poetry and devotions “Ropet” (Shout It Out) from Norwegian into the English language, but I have also translated books such as “The Purpose-Driven Life”, “Changes That Heal”, “The Search for Significance”, “The Valley of Fear” by Arthur Conan Doyle, and others from English into the Latvian language.
I look forward to fulfilling your translation or transcription related needs by providing value for you with an excellent service.
I am looking forward to working with you.
