Resident in Spain since 1984, I started out working as an EFL teacher, later opening my own school and selling it in 2003.
I passed the Diploma in Translation set by the Institute of Linguists (London, UK) in November 2000 and started an MA in Translation Studies at the University of Birmingham (UK) in 2003, completing the course with a mark of Distinction in 2006. I also hold a BA (Hons) in Spanish Language and Literature (University of Sheffield, UK).
I am a Chartered Linguist and Member of the CIOL (Chartered Institute of Linguists). I have been translating full-time since 1993 and today specialise in the post-editing, revision and translation of legal, business and financial texts from Spanish, Portuguese and French into English.
My Continuing Professional Development (CPD) schedule for each year includes courses and webinars on law, contract abstraction, legal translation and terminology and CAT skills.
