Source text - Chinese Good evening everyone!
Not too long ago, I received an invitation from Guangxi School of Traditional Chinese Medicine to give a few lectures; the response I received afterwards was very satisfactory. Guangxi School of Traditional Chinese Medicine specially called on me to assume post as a professor, and to direct some of their work. While in Guangxi, and til present, teachers, and students have continued to contact me. So, after returning, [to Guangxi] our Foundational Medicine Studies leaders hoped I could talk about my experience here, where I first came. Therefore, tonight, I’ll take this opportunity here to speak.
Just now, Secretary Lai already gave a simple introduction of my background and history. During his introduction, he mentioned, in addition to teaching work, I have never left the clinical aspect. So I’ll use cases and examples from the past and medical statistics from one year as the basis for tonight’s lecture. To start, I’ll give some background to everybody.
In one year, in total I treated and diagnosed 2745 patients, gave 20013 examinations, wrote 20076 prescription formulas. In addition to from my local area [Chengdu], and home province [Sichuan) sick people come from, other provinces and from outside China.
According to the statistics, if I gave 20013 examinations, why did I write 20076 formulas? Some patients I wrote two formulas, specifically, after the initial symptoms showed improvement, and the sickness had basically receded, some I [gave one additional formula, in small doses that the patient could use to consolidate or strengthen their recovery. **

I specialize in voicings of Chinese language. I study Chinese physiology and Chen Zhenglei (Chenshi style) Taiji. I take projects on a case by case basis and work with long term translation, not short term deadline. I do not translate to academic language, I translate to maintain the original voicing of the piece.
I speak frequently with people in the country, people in business, and people in government. I am skilled at putting together pieces that translate across two cultures (i.e.--Hebrew poetry to Chinese); pricing is variable by project. Timing is variable by schedule.

Thank you very much again for volunteering your time for our website that promotes classical Chinese medicine! Your Chinese is definitely very good, and suitable to read and translate contemporary medical materials. However, the polishing into “academic English” and the Chinese medicine specific terminology are missing in the piece you sent me. In this form, it would take me nearly as long to edit the piece into publishable form as it would take me to translate it myself.
I hesitate to let you do more translations at this point, since I do not wish to waste any of your time by ending up with a project that is not publishable in its present form—the minimum reward I envision for all of our volunteer translators!
Best of luck with your endeavors in China, and keep in touch!
