Another big issue facing your presidency is Brexit. This is not a little local difficulty on the margins. The Brexiteers threaten our common European values.
They’re funded by dodgy sources, they don’t care about those left behind. They’ve poisoned our political debate with lies and pandered to extremists. Those of us who are both British and European, who defend fairness, openness and truth ask you to stand with us together.
President, it’s good to hear that the Finnish presidency will prioritise the challenges of climate but I think it’s important that we take on board that one of our best options in the fight against climate system breakdown is a dramatic global tree-planting programme that would sequester greenhouse gases.
Yet the Mercosur trade deal will ensure that we will speed up the deforestation of the Amazon. Trade deals that facilitate a race to the bottom in terms of environmental protections and quality standards are incompatible with meaningful climate action.

Ένα ακόμα μείζον θέμα που αντιμετωπίζει η προεδρία σας είναι το Brexit. Αυτό δεν είναι μία μικρή τοπική, περιφερειακή διένεξη. Οι υπέρμαχοι του Brexit απειλούν τις κοινές ευρωπαϊκές μας αξίες.

Bio
I began my freelance carreer as a novice translator in 2015 when I joined Gengo. Later on, I successfully completed a BA (Hons) in Linguistics at the University of York, UK, and started implementing the tools morphosyntax and parsing into the translation process.
I am mostly involved in localising product and website material, but branched out to academic editing/proofreading after finishing my degree. I am particularly interested in how translation (in its technical sense, i.e. the de-contextualised conversion of one language to another) interacts with and is differentited from localization.
A native of Greece, I now reside in Athens but I plan on moving abroad yet to further my studies and seek new career opportunities/cultural experiences.
