Bio
Hi there! My name is Michelle Ovalles,
and I have been translating full time for the past 4 years. Born to Venezuelan
parents but raised in the United States, I grew up speaking only English.
I moved to Venezuela at a young age, where I subsequently learned Spanish
and became fully bilingual.
I have always had a passion for languages
and communication but also for the human mind, which led me to obtain my
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Before that, I studied French at L'Alliance
Française, becoming fluent in said language.
Once I graduated, I started
working at a company specializing in digital marketing and SEO services, where
I was a copywriter (English) and translator (Spanish-English) and
was then promoted to proofreader (English).
I then went on to work as a freelance
English, Spanish, and French translator for a US translation company whose clients
include government agencies and state courts. Therefore, I am highly
familiar with translations in the fields of law, social services,
healthcare, housing, agriculture, and medicine.
I have also worked in transcreation for
Latin American businesses in the US, helping their content become more
appealing to the American audience.
I love my job. You can expect nothing but professional and ethical work from
me.
