Source text - English The body was half in the shade, and half out. Hard sunlight clipped the dead guy at the waist. A vulture scooted in and took a peck on the guy’s head wound.
I called out once more, “Hola.” And got nothing back, except for echoes of my own voice, fading off like skimming stones into the desert. The guy did not look at rest. He looked dead.

I got around ten yards up the slope when my peripheral vision clocked the girl.
She was hiding in a shady hole, screened by a large boulder. When I came around, I saw her, leaned back against the rocks and pointing a pistol at me. The gun was a Glock 19, and the girl’s hands were steady, eyes wary. Her face was scratched up, as if she had been through thick brush during the crossing. She had an open cut and bruising on the right cheek below her eye. On top of that, she had a swollen lip. Her face and clothes were filthy with mud, dust, and dried blood. She looked like she had been through a lot.

Source text - English They circled the mountainside property the Montgomery Group had purchased from Moose Springs Resort and then tightened the circle to where her eventual luxury condominiums would be built.
Key word: eventual.
At the top of today’s to-do list was checking on the construction site progress. As sites went, this one was sorely lacking. So far, they’d only driven tall stakes with bright orange plastic flags on the tops to mark the boundaries of what would soon become the riskiest venture Lana had ever started.
(...)
“Mount Veil is looking particularly ominous today,” she mentioned, stalling because she would much rather stay outside with Ben then go back to her suite. Moose Springs Resort was a world-class luxury hotel offering absolutely anything she could possibly want, but an empty room got lonely. Besides, the snow-covered Alaskan mountains were always worth taking a moment to appreciate.

Source text - English The stage, which lacked the excellent springs and upholstering of Milord’s luxurious vehicle, jolted and thumped out onto the Brighthelmstone road. Alison, jostled and almost smothered between a farmer’s stout wife and an even stouter merchant, told herself how delighted she was to have made so clever an escape.
In the courtyard of the Sun and Sea Inn at Brighthelmstone eighteen hours later, she was not so sanguine. For one thing, it was dark, the night was cold, windy, and threatening rain; and she had still to find a place to stay, to say nothing of employment which would pay for food and lodging. The other passengers were all very anxious to get under shelter on such an inclement night; they were disappearing before her eyes. Even the coachman had abandoned his team to the ostlers and gone inside to the bar to take the chill from his bones. A small boy was sweeping the stableyard with complete unconcern for the horses moving all around him. Alison approached him hopefully.

Source text - English I
Space is the soil where writers converge, and seeds of words are sparse, for sprouts of a poem may emerge.
II
Space, uncontained for words to be written and memory spared.
III
A writer fills space with words,
their given meaning challenges the intellect
their catching sense pervades the self.
IV
The muse is a reckless joker the luck to be blamed
for space is filled and erased by a writer with words that elate.
V
If this art entertains the reader, gracious, it is. If this art helps feed my hunger, sate be me.
But,
If this art is never read, someone may find it hidden in the crevices of space, reverberating, splitting, and merging in the dot at the end.

Source text - English The design of a product and the materials it uses are crucial to a circular economy. There are two categories of inputs: the first is biological materials [which] are those that can be returned to the biosphere in a restorative manner without harm or waste (i.e., they decompose naturally); and [secondly] technical materials that can be continuously reused without harm or waste.
On the biological side, various packaging solutions to curb the use of environmentally harmful materials are being developed. For example, various companies are creating packaging via the use of seaweed which typically degrades within four weeks and can be a soil ameliorant. On the other hand, technical materials may not break down, but shifting perspectives and uses can aid in their efficient reuse and recycling.
Nevertheless, extending the life of a product may seem detrimental, as it can be argued that it may lead to fewer purchases. However, according to an article in the Harvard Business Review, this can be a key competitive differentiator. It is argued that making a product more durable and reusable provides a strong rationale for premium pricing. Furthermore, designing products in a circular way also helps to maximise the recoverability of the materials involved for use in new products, which helps to reduce the need for raw material extraction.
Translation - German Beim Thema Kreislaufwirtschaft spielen das Produktdesign und die Auswahl der Materialien eine zentrale Rolle.

Was inspiriert euch zu euren Songs?
Translation - English How long have you guys been around, and where are you from?
We met in the summer of 2018 through Instagram. Back then, we were both still living near Bremen. We started producing songs together and experimenting with different styles until we found what felt like our own sound. When the first lockdown hit in 2020, we officially started our project, XYZ.
How would you describe your music?
Our music is a mix of pop, synth-pop, and 80s influences. We blend funky guitars and drums with lush synthesizers to create a groovy sound that still has depth. Besides the English lyrics, we focus a lot on the arrangement of the instruments.
What inspires you to write your songs?
We’re inspired by artists like Roosevelt, Charlie Puth, and Jamiroquai, as well as classic 80s pop and funk – tracks like Get Down Saturday Night by Oliver Cheatham are big influences. We also draw a lot of ideas from our collaboration and the experiences we share.
How do you record and mix your tracks?
We mostly record in our home studios, which we’ve both put a lot of effort into setting up properly. Leon just moved into a new studio space in Hamburg, so that’s opening up new possibilities for us.
We use a Yamaha TX81Z synthesizer from 1987 on nearly every track – it’s basically a rack version of the DX7 with the same iconic sounds, like the Lately Bass and that warm electric piano tone you hear in a lot of 90s pop.
For vocals, we use a Shure SM7B, running through an SPL Goldmike preamp and a Klark-Teknik KT76 compressor – basically an 1176 clone that suits our vocal sound really well. That chain goes into a Scarlett 18i20 interface with the Air mode turned on. We actually use that setup for most instruments, whether it’s bass, percussion, or Leon’s ’62 Fender Strat.
We usually build our drum tracks from sample packs and then add some live hi-hats or shakers for a more organic feel. For synths, we rely heavily on Arturia’s emulations of vintage gear like the Juno 60, Oberheim OB-X, Minimoog, and Prophet 5.
Mixing happens in Logic Pro X, which is our go-to DAW. We mostly use plugins from FabFilter, Waves, and Soundtoys, and we love the Valhalla reverbs and delays for adding space and texture.
