A morte de um ente querido é um momento muito impactante que uma criança pode vivenciar. Sentimentos de desamparo e impotência, o não entendimento do que está acontecendo e a ideia de estar perdendo o mundo que conhecia, podem surgir.
O luto infantil é um processo de reconstrução diante da morte. Cada pessoa irá passar por isso de forma única. As crianças, por ainda estarem aprendendo a desenvolver seus recursos internos emocionais, podem passar por isso de forma diferente. Desse modo é muito importante um olhar atento ao que a criança está expressando, que pode ser: agressividade, ansiedade, medos, choro muito frequente, pesadelos, irritabilidade, rendimento escolar baixo, entre outros..
Nessa hora a ideia é deixar que as crianças possam expressar o que estão sentindo, oferecendo apoio e escuta. Para que aos poucos ela possa ir ressignificando sua perda, retomando a rotina, voltando a fazer as coisas que traziam tranquilidade e ir formando as novas boas memória da família.
A ajuda do psicólogo promove suporte emocional, possibilitando para a criança a elaboração do luto, bem como sentir-se acolhida, compreendida e segura em um momento de desamparo e incerteza.
Translation - English The child's grief, how can we help?
The death of a loved one is a very impactful moment that a child can experience. Feelings of helplessness, disability, not understanding what is happening and the idea of losing the world that they used to know, can arise.
Child's grief is a process of reconstruction in the face of death. Each person will go through this moment in a unique way. As children are still learning how to develop their internal emotional resources, they may experience it differently. So, it is very important to pay close attention to what the child is expressing, which can be: aggression, anxiety, fears, very frequent crying, nightmares, irritability, low school performance, and others.
At this moment, the idea is to let children express what they are feeling, offering support and listening. So, little by little they can give new meaning to their loss, resuming their routine, doing things that brought their peace of mind and constructing new good memories of the family.
The psychologist's help promotes emotional support, allowing the child to elaborate the grief, as well as to feel welcomed, understood and safe in a moment of helplessness and uncertainty.
