Bio

Born and raised in Mexico along the Chihuahua-Texas border, I grew up speaking and learning in Spanish with English being a secondary language taught in school. I became a citizen and moved to the US when I was 14 years old, my mother put me in public school and my practice of the English language began. During college I participated in the Disney College Program, where I gained exposure and practice of many different dialects of spanish; I would also become a trainer for new employees.

After completing my undergraduate degree in Speech and Language Pathology, I moved to Arizona and entered the field of medical interpreting. Enrolled at Estrella Mountain Community College for their training in Spanish medical interpreting; years later I returned to the school as an instructor for the same course. Got my feet wet by working for Cyracom doing over the phone interpretation to in person interpreting at a local Level One Trauma hospital, after a year I transferred  to a local pediatric hospital.

Within the hospital setting, my interpreting and translating careers grew simultaneously; by interpreting for patients and translating the educational material given, I bridged gaps in patient provider relationships and helped increase treatment compliance.

Post pandemic, I transitioned to freelance translation, with a focus on mental health, diabetes care, nutrition, and step by step guides.
