Source text - German Vor ein paar Jahren saß ich mit Peter Fischli in einer Bar und diskutierte hitzig die Arbeit von Seth Price. Unsere Euphorie wandelte sich mehrfach in Ärgernis und wieder zurück: Ärgernis über ein System, dessen scheinbare Balance und narrative Technologien den Betrachter verführen und das gleichzeitig ständig versucht, den Raum des Selbst zu dezimieren – eine Beziehung, die wohl die meisten von uns im neoliberalen Kapitalismus teilen. Schlussendlich einigten sich unsere gemischten Gefühle auf: „Weißt du was? Fuck Seth Price!“, was ich mit Filzstift in einem Lampenschirm der Bar hinterließ und ging.
Translation - English A few years ago, I was sitting in a bar with Peter Fischli, heatedly discussing the work of Seth Price. Our euphoria turned to anger and back again many times: anger towards a system whose ostensible balance and narrative technologies seduce its observers only to make rubble of the sphere of the self – something most of us have probably experienced within neoliberal capitalism. Our mixed feelings eventually reached consensus: “You know what? Fuck Seth Price!” – which, before we left, I scrawled in marker on a lampshade in the bar.
