I was born and raised 20 years of my life in Monterrey, Mexico. I've lived in the USA for almost 4 years. My future career goal is to attend medical school next Fall semester 2007. While in college, I worked at Brackenridge and Children's Hospital of Austin, and acquired more experience interpreting/translating in the medical field. In Austin I've realized that there is an urgent need of good Spanish translators. Although I'm not certified and becoming a professional translator is not my career goal, I do have the knowledge to correctly translate information needed in hospitals, for example. Unfortunately, some health care facilities work with "qualified" companies for translation services. As a result, these companies do poor translation jobs. I believe it is imperative to be able to convey the message correctly without any grammatical errors. Again, even though I'm not certified, I used to edit/proofread documents used for patient education in Children's Hospital of Austin from co-workers that were certified.
I love studying medicine, travel, and go to medical mission trips. |
