Source text - Japanese
Translation - English Sentencing in the trial of Bo Xilai, a former high-ranking Communist Party of China official accused of graft and other crimes, occurred at a courthouse in the city of Jinan on Sept. 22.
The court gave Bo life in prison, permanently stripped him of all political rights and ordered the seizure of all his assets. At the trial, Bo denied all the charges against him and displayed a defiant attitude toward the party leadership.
However, out of consideration for support and sympathy for Bo, a figure with a deeply entrenched presence in the public's mind, party leaders did abstain from having the court give him the death penalty, a decision made to bring reconciliation within the party and ensure social stability.

Translation - English (Version prior to editing)
The policy the Thai government introduced to raise the minimum wage nationwide to 300 baht (around 930 yen) a day is gradually inflicting pain on small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The number of factories ceasing operations in outlying areas is on the rise and the policy is beginning to have an effect on laborers, the very people it was meant to benefit. Estimates indicate that tens of thousands of factories are facing pressure to shut down.

Translation - English The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) released estimates on income and expenditures for 26 airports administered by the Japanese government on September 10. Only three of the airports--New Chitose, Komatsu and Kumamoto--are in the black for flight operations support, the primary role of an airport.
The operating profit of each airport's flight operations support is a profit-and-loss calculation comparing landing fees and other income with expenses for maintaining facilities and the like. New Chitose Airport posted a profit of around JPY 1.55 billion, Komatsu Airport JPY 590 million and Kumamoto Airport JPY 70 million.
