My goal is to provide clear, accurate medical translations geared to the proper audience. As a retired medical doctor with 31 years of experience in family practice in the suburban Philadelphia area, I know the appropriate terminology usage in America English for medical letters, reports, conferences, journals, pharmaceutical reports and in communications with patients. Born in Georgia, USA, my native tongue is English. I have a rich, varied background of education and experience that adds depth and breadth to my knowledge of English. I have been certified in German to English translation by New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies in 2008. Quality and accuracy are my primary objectives in translation.
I work exclusively in medical translating. I have worked in the following areas, among others: General Medicine; Medical Equipment; Cardiology, including Echocardiography, Stress Tests, Cardiac Catheterization and Cardiac and Vascular Surgery; Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery; Pharmaceuticals; Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; Plastic Surgery; Radiology and Nuclear Medicine; two web pages, and some medico-legal documents. Books translated: Functional Anatomy for Physical Therapists by Jutta Hochschild and Clinical Tests for the Musculoskeletal System by Klaus and Johannes Buckup.
