Professional practices Ginnine Robar endorses's Professional Guidelines (v1.1).
I have always had a passion for languages and linguistics, making my pursuit of a French language education and subsequently a career in translation a logical ambition. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in French & Psychology from l'Université Sainte-Anne, where I was awarded highest academic achievement in the 2007 graduating class. In 2010, I completed the Translation Certificate program offered by l'Université de Saint-Boniface.

I primarily translate in the field of Information Technology, and more specifically in telecommunications, computer hardware, networking, systems repair, website development and new technologies. I work with a wide variety of texts: from rigid governmental decrees to exciting press releases; from precise technical specifications to attractive marketing websites; and from energetic tender proposals to straightforward instruction manuals.

I also enjoy working in a variety of non-technical fields, including tourism and hospitality, social sciences (particularly education, psychology, politics and history), and more specialized fields such as general contracts (terms and conditions, last will and testament, etc.) and e-commerce.

I have an excellent working knowledge in the field of Information Technology, having worked 3 years in network technical support for a major telecommunications company. I also have a combined 8 years of experience working front-line in the hospitality industry as a museum guide, travel counselor and hotel front-desk clerk.
