Unusual smells can come from the car in front or your environment, but if the smell is consistent it may well come from your car. When describing the smell to your franchise dealer try to remember if it was:
• a sweet smell (likely to be caused by burning engine coolant)
• acrid, like burnt plastic (likely to be caused by electrical faults)
• like burning rubber (likely to be caused by overheating brakes or clutch).

Een ongewone geur kan afkomstig zijn van de auto vóór u of van bijvoorbeeld een fabriek waar u langs rijdt, maar als de geur voortdurend aanwezig is, kan deze uit uw auto zelf komen. Wanneer u de geur beschrijft aan de garagehouder, probeert u zich dan te herinneren of het:

Motorolie fungeert als reservoir voor allerlei soorten bijproducten die ontstaan bij het verbranden van brandstof; denk aan roet, slib, water en zuren, en ook aan onverbrande en gedeeltelijk verbrande brandstof. Tegelijkertijd put de druk op de olie geleidelijk de componenten uit die bepalend zijn voor de prestatie van de olie.
De afgelopen jaren hebben we gemerkt dat motorrijders olie willen die optimaal presteert en die zo betrouwbaar en schoon mogelijk is. Zo kunnen ze meer uit hun motor halen en de levensduur ervan verlengen.
Sinds 1999, toen X Advance en Ducati Corse de krachten bundelden, heeft Ducati het World Superbike kampioenschap vijf keer gewonnen.
