These fishes are both translated as salmon. Is there any way to explain the difference as these are really different fishes :)

I believe there is no way to differentiate the words in English. Having failed to do so with Russian-English dictionaries, I tried to do the following trick: searched for translation in Russian-German dictionaries. They do provide different translations for the words. Then I entered these two translations in several on-line German-English dicts (there are quite a few good ones there), but received only salmon for both words.
