emergency stop / pull button Explanation: As diesel buses have the legend "open cover and pull button to stop engine in emergency", I think this is possibly an adaptation of this to be found on the dashboard of a car. Like the choke button on older cars, which had to be pulled out to choke off the supply of cold air when starting the engine in cold weather. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 days5 hrs (2009-02-07 09:10:59 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- With the extra context you have (grudgingly - but why?) given us, this answer makes no sense at all, so is best ignored. The "Reißleine" might possibly translate as "ripcord" - e.g. hanging from the ceiling or an overhead fitting (maybe to stop the line in case of an emergency), but THEN I wouldn't have any idea how an "Ausleger" fits in. |
