I'm a native English speaker with two years' experience translating. I work from Italian and Spanish into English. I'm currently living in Spain, and have been in Andalusia for seven years and spent one year in Italy. I have a background in dentistry, having worked as a dental surgery assistant for four years, with hands-on experience in general dentistry, conservation, endodontics, maxillofacial and oral surgery, and orthodontics and hold the National Certificate for Dental Nurses from the UK.
I gained a first-class BA in Translation Studies (Spanish-English) from Roehampton University in London after deciding to pursue my interest in languages, having also worked as an English teacher in both Spain and Italy.
My translation experience has been focused on medical translation, which I hope to specialise in long term, and in this field I have translated numerous oncology and cardiology medical reports, as well as articles for publication in textbooks and international journals. I also have experience in business translation, particularly web content and product brochures and manuals, within many commercial and industrial fields.
I am committed to developing my translation skills and am planning to take a postgraduate certificate course in Italian to English translation in the near future, as well as further CAT tool training to broaden my skill set.
