Field of the Invention
The invention relates generally to steam cleaning appliances, and more specifically to steam applicators and steam applicator support frames.
Brief Description of the Drawings

Fig. 1 is a side view of a steam appliance system according to one embodiment of the invention;
Embodiments of the invention provided herein are directed to steam appliance systems in which a steam applicator can be maneuvered to clean and sanitize all kinds of surfaces, not merely floors. For example, the steam appliance system may be used to apply steam to oven hoods, countertops, appliances, walls, ceilings, glass surfaces, bathroom fixtures, upholstery, garments, etc. The steam appliance may include a portable steam generation unit and a steam conduit which guides steam to the steam applicator. In some embodiments, the portable steam generation unit is handheld, while in other embodiments the steam generation unit may include a shoulder strap, or include wheels or other rollers. Several different steam applicators may be provided with the system so that a steam applicator which is well-suited to a particular task may be used.
A steam cleaning applicator frame for supporting a steam-permeable material to form a steam cleaning applicator, comprising:
a plurality of support elements extending from the base and arranged such that the base and the support elements define a chamber for distribution of steam, the plurality of support elements being adapted to support the steam-permeable material; and a steam opening to introduce steam into the chamber.

Source text - English Reliability engineering is an engineering field that deals with the study, evaluation, and life-cycle management of reliability: the ability of a system or component to perform its required functions under stated conditions for a specified period of time. Reliability engineering is a sub-discipline within systems engineering. Reliability is theoretically defined as the probability of failure, the frequency of failures, or in terms of availability, a probability derived from reliability and maintainability. Maintainability and maintenance may be defined as a part of reliability engineering. Reliability plays a key role in cost-effectiveness of systems.
Reliability engineering for complex systems requires a different, more elaborate systems approach than for non-complex systems. Reliability analysis has important links with functional analysis, requirements specification, hardware & software design, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, transport, storage, spare parts, operations research, human factors, technical documentation and work skill training. Effective reliability engineering requires experience, broad engineering skills and knowledge from many different fields of engineering.
Reliability engineering is closely related to safety engineering and system safety, in that they use common methods for their analysis and may require input from each other. Reliability engineering focuses on costs of failure caused by system downtime, cost of spares, repair equipment, personnel and cost of warranty claims. The focus of safety engineering is normally not on cost, but on preserving life and nature, and therefore deals only with particular dangerous system failure modes. High reliability (safety) levels are also here the result of good engineering, attention to detail and almost never the result of re-active failure management (Reliability Accounting / Statistics).
