While I have been part of the community for more than five years, I just became a member last month. I cannot believe how many contacts I have made since becoming a (paying) member... I have three new clients and these are some of the best clients I have ever had.

Joining ProZ.com was an investment which paid off very quickly. I became a paying member in 2009, and haven't looked back since. If you invest time with your profile, site facilities, training and events, then after a while good customers will come after you. I secured some excellent clients through the site, and ProZ.com has been instrumental in my growth in the profession - I continue to learn from all the great information and events on offer. Potential clients now approach me and that, without a doubt, is thanks to ProZ.com.

Initially, I doubted if my membership investment would represent a benefit. Well, I broke even after 2-3 months of becoming a member!

I found ProZ.com quite useful initially (the term search, KudoZ, the glossaries, etc.), but it really came into its own when I became a paying member. Now, nearly all of my jobs come through my ProZ.com profile, and through repeat requests from regular clients, and I can't remember the last time I actually bid for a job.

The Blue Board is extremely useful for filtering out undesirable clients (bad/slow payers) - a feature that is only available to full members, but it is worth its weight in gold.

I would certainly recommend becoming a paying member at ProZ.com. I started with a free membership, but I have had much more work since I decided to invest in ProZ.com membership. Now I don't have any delay before quoting for a "private" job posting, I have access to the LWA of every outsourcer on the Blue Board, and I can meet fellow translators via the site or at a powwow.

I've been a member since 2005, Plus member since it started. As it's my only marketing channel I'm quite positive about it. I attended a ProZ.com conference in Eiffel Tower in 2010 and met Henry and other ProZ.com people there. I'll use ProZ.com services for as long as I translate. For me, the most useful function is the Blue Board. All of my clients have come via ProZ.com, both agencies and direct clients, even if not directly via ProZ.com but as recommended by my clients.

Most of my new clients now come from ProZ.com, and I have to say that fine-tuning my profile has generated some pretty good "matches" (clients that are willing to pay my rates for specific subject areas). I think ProZ.com is a great source of new clients and it is also hugely helpful in avoiding bad payers.

This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one. I left my "safe" English teaching job and recontacted my old clients. It didn't take long and I was soon back on track. Thanks to ProZ I have made contacts with new agencies around the world. I have met colleagues worldwide and found new friends... Words are my passion and this is the ideal job for me with growing children who love to see me around. Sites like ProZ.com work for you 24 hours, even when you sleep. ProZ.com landed me two regular end clients, and I got many other jobs, not to speak about digital exposure. I ask all my clients how they found me and why they selected me, and not someone else. In 3 years as a Proz member I have got quite a lot of work through having a profile here. That's the keyword: p r o f i l e.

Kudoz to ProZ.com and their Blueboard for translator and agency ratings!! It's worth being a paying member. I just let a company with late payment know that I was aware they had some negative feedback and that I would add mine by the end of the week if I did not receive payment by then. I also started following their profiles on LinkedIn. 5 minutes later I received my payment via Wise!

I have to say that getting jobs (and, more importantly, regular clients) via ProZ.com worked a treat for me ... it's not that big an investment if you want to run a business.

I really like ProZ.com and I should’ve joined this platform much earlier. Since joining I've learned so much, from setting up my profile to being more knowledgeable about rates and dealing with agencies or clients.

Avant tout, ProZ.com représente pour moi une plate-forme d’échanges internationale permettant de côtoyer d’autres traducteurs via les forums et les formations. J’apprécie également la possibilité de pouvoir obtenir des informations sur les agences de traduction et les donneurs d’ordre en général grâce au Blue Board (certes non exhaustif, mais ô combien utile !), et de l’aide en cas de besoin avec les KudoZ. De plus, grâce à ProZ.com, j’ai trouvé un client avec lequel je travaille régulièrement : espérons que cela ne soit que le début d’une longue série!

Being a ProZ.com member makes you more visible. Most of the jobs are awarded directly, bypassing the bidding system.
