I live in Lincolnshire with my family and work from home full-time. Most of my work is pharmaceutical (drug trial protocols, clinical trial documentation, drug specifications, etc., including Botox [clinical and cosmetic applications], anti-retroviral drugs and anti-cancer drugs), but I also translate the following types of text:
* Veterinary;
* Legal (contracts, legal texts, court documentation [pleadings, petitions, judgments], birth/death/marriage certificates, etc.);
* Accounting (management reports, balance sheets, profit & loss accounts, etc.);
* General commercial.
I trained in-house with Interlingua and Transtelex Ltd. prior to becoming a freelance translator and now have many clients both in the U.K. and in Europe.
My charges start from £75/1,000 words and my minimum charge is £25-30, depending on the source material. All charges are subject to VAT. An additional charge is made for urgent and weekend work. I also have ITI seals to certify my translations for legal use; this is subject to an additional £10 charge.
