Hello! I am translating a menu, which has the term Pisanice in it. I was thinking of translating it as escallop but the term odrezak is also in the menu - for example Becki odrezak [od pisanice]. It is also used for all meats - pork, beef, veal etc.
I am based in Rijeka, and someone suggested that pisanice is dialect in Zagreb for Ombolo.
Could anyone tell me what joint of meat this is? I would be very grateful.

As far as I understand, "pisanica" is a very good quality meat which can be from veal, pork, beef, lamb. It is a part of meat cut from the bone, and all the fat, small tendons... are taken off so that it is very tasty.
Maybe someone else has another suggestion - I myself do not eat meat that much, so I might be wrong :-)
