My very good friend in pampanga wrote this to me, I kinda worked out some of it, but the online dictionary i use had nothing for nambabae (I think it's to do with female, or woman/girl) and also papaluin, again I can't find a reference to this word.

another thing is the use of "kita", I'd like to know about this word, i get the impression it's a versatile word!

by the way, I'm english, and very intrested in learning tagalog. thanks in advance for you're help!

Salamat, Leny. Kapakipakinabang talaga ang discussions na ganito.
Leny Vargas Jun 14, 2008:
You are also right... but sometimes "spanking" can be done on legs... :):):) Mabuhay!!!
dencruise Jun 14, 2008:
I agree, Leny. "Will slap the butt" is the full translation of "papaluin sa pwet." I thought simply saying "spank" already implies that it is done on the butt. :)
Leny Vargas Jun 14, 2008:
If you were seeing another women, I would spank your butt! :)
Leny Vargas Jun 14, 2008:
I agree with dennis... but "papaluin sa puwet" means "will slap the butt/buttocks"; puwet = butt.
dencruise Jun 13, 2008:
Regarding "kita":

"Kita", is used instead of "ikaw" or "ka" (you) as the object of a verb when the doer is "I".

Proposed translations

"I will spank you if I find out you are seeing another woman."

The sentence translates thus:
"I will spank you if I find out you are seeing another woman."

"Nambabae" is the past tense of "mambabae" which means "to womanize"

"Papaluin" means "will spank." The root word is "palo" (spank, whip, whack).

"Papaluin kita" means "I will spank you"

Note from asker:
regarding the word "kita" has this word got more than one meaning, or is it's meaning changed by the other words in the sentence?
