"Firma XXX verzoekt uw College om de inhoud van dit **nader stuk** bij de verdere behandeling van het beroep te betrekken onder voorbehoud van het recht om de gronden van het beroep aan te vullen en/of nader te onderbouwen."

De te vertalen tekst is het nader stuk zelf. Het is de reactie op het verweerschrift. Het is een document waarin de firma haar standpunten verder wil uitleggen ("De inhoud van het verweerschrift is voor firma XXX aanleiding om haar standpunt op onderdelen nader uiteen te zetten").

Ik krijg sterk de indruk dat het een vaststaand combinatie is en ook een vastomlijnde betekenis heeft (het geven van een aanvulling) en aan regels gebonden is. Ik kan echter geen vertaling vinden. Bestaat er iets soortgelijks in het Engelse recht of ga ik voor een omschrijvende vertaling als "explanatory document" of "supplementary document"?

To my knowledge, 'nader stuk' simply means 'nader ingediend stuk' (i.e. an additional submission made after the so-called 'initial submissions'). I would therefore stay away from using terms like 'explanatory (document)' and use a more neutral translation like 'further submission' (which seems to be the most common term).

Dank je wel, Tina. Overigens wordt elders in de tekst wel beschreven om wat voor soort 'nader stuk' het gaat, maar evengoed lijkt het me toch het verstandigst om hier voor een neutrale/generieke vertaling te kiezen.
