Yes It could be. I also thought of this. This would be "langer/kurzer Ausleger". But is very uncertain. Could be suggested with a remark. Puzzling is the abbreviation "2WS" that normally means "2 wheel steering" (opposite to 4 wheel steering). "SS" is a mystery (could be a type of steering wheel).

More context Sorry there is not much more context. This is a table across about 10 pages, more entries in this part of the table (General Information) are: Manufacturer ID, Product Brand, Transmission, Drive, Digging Depth, Operator Compartment, Loader Element Function, Production Year, Chassis Type, Engine Option, Digging Element Function. This is a digger for roadworks with standard and extendable digger. What came to mind first was "kurzer/langer Radstand" but that is definitely not the correct translation. The chassis type does not have a unit, only a cryptic number like "2WS SS" and similar - which I used for researching, but didn't get any sensible results.

Are you absolutely sure this is ... ... about the chassis of the machine/vehicle as a whole? I'm asking because your terms are established in the context of transmissions/gearboxes, where they are related to the location of the output shaft(s). So the chassis might be that of a transmission/gearbox unit.

Edit: What I mean is that the chassis type might be named according to the type of output shaft it has to accomodate for.

Context You certainly have more context. What are all the parameters of this table?. What unit does this parameter have? Millimeters?
