stranded costs
English to Spanish
Law/Patents
I have some terms to translate into Spanish, with which I need some help:
- stranded costs
- decommission funding
-coal-fired project
- BOT
- barge mounted power station
All of them come from a translation talking about energy and utilities businesses.
Thank you very much for your help.

stranded costs = costos aislados, costos independientes, costos no recuperables. fondos para terminación = commissioning means to start up the plant, thus the decomissioning funding is the funding (financial resources) applied to shutting the plant down. coal-fired project = proyecto con combustión de carbón, proyecto a base de combustión de carbón, proyecto de carbón. BOT = Build-Own-Transfer, a modality of project financing... Construir-Operar-Transferir is the correct translation... The Contractor is liable for building the power plant, operating it (usually a 25 year term, could be less) and then transferring title to the project assets to the new owner. Barge mounted power station = estación eléctrica montada sobre barcaza . One of my clients is the electricity utility in Mexico, most of these terms are industry specific, terms with which I am very familiar. Best of luck!
