Der Begriff taucht auf unter "Definitions" in einem Prospektdokument für einen Mitarbeiteraktienkaufplan:
"Market Price: The closing market price of Common Stock as reported on the ***New York Stock Exchange Composite Tape***."

Ist das nun das Gleiche wie das New York Stock Exchange "consolidated transaction reporting system" (siehe meine gesonderte Frage hierzu) oder wieder etwas anderes?
Wenn es das Gleiche ist, würde ich analog dem vorhergehenden Begriff mit "New York Stock Exchange Composite Tape (Börseninformationssystem)" übersetzen.

transcreator Dec 5, 2010: ich denke das ist ziemlich das gleiche, und diese variante ist die weniger offizielle. das tape ist sozusagen, was aus dem system rauskommt, nämlich ein feed mit echtzeitkursdaten von nyse-gelisteten aktien, der auch transaktionen an anderen handelplätzen berücksichtigt (das ist das consolidated resp. composite)
phillee Dec 5, 2010: Haarspalterei "The index is continuously computed, and printed on ticker tape every half hour" i.e. continuously computed, not printed. @Klaus: IMHO I think the original text is referring to the 'index' rather than the physical means of dissemination. I think your suggestion is perfect.
