Maintenance shall routinely check the angle of the HTST holding tubes and the operation of the flow diversion valve.

This is in reference to equipment used in dairy plants. The holding tubes are where liquid that is being pasteurized is held for a specific lenght of time.

I am looking for the industry-specific term for this part of the equipment.

I meant to put "tubos" de retención and NOT "tuberías". Please forgive me and I hope Flavio doesn't mind my butting in like this. The following is an excerpt from the website I showed in my original answer:

"La sección (por ejemplo, el tubo de retención del sistema de esterilización de productos alimenticios en la cual se mantiene el alimento calentado portiempo determinado, para determinar si ocurre una proliferación de microorganismos bajo estas condiciones".

HTST (High Temperature Short Time) es un sistema estirilizador muy usado en la industria. Una búsqueda en Google te confirmará que los términos usados son los susodichos, tubos (en general, aplicable a tu "holding" como quieras) HTST, especificando entre paréntesis "método alta temperatura corto tiempo". HTST deberás utilizarlo también en español porque es estandard, y luego clarificar su significado.
