En un palmeral hay acequias, canales de irrigación, brazales, y arrobas que transportan el agua que se toma del río. Me despista lo de arrobas, he encontrado que es una medida, ´pero aqui, por el contexto, parece más bien algo sólido, como un canal, no sé.

agree E Gustafson : It would be good to have more context, but I agree that Cindy's answer is probably right. I'm from a place where irrigation is also normal, and it lends itself for a lot of local and very specific terminology.
