We’re NOT interested in AI projects at all or translations based on NMT/LLM/AI models and the like. Too many errors, not worth the time spent on finding all errors.
We have programmed our own translation engine, which is a Rules Based Machine Translation (RBMT): BRATTY SIS(TM) - Basic Rules, Automation, Terminology, Technology, Yetis, Syntax, Industry Standards, Translation Memory (okay, we have no idea where the yetis sneaked in but we had to make up for the Y in the name and Yield was too mainstream).
It’s purely grammar, context, rule, terminology, spelling based (I’m litterally teaching the tool grammar and syntax) and runs on a simple PC while delivering very fast results, so there is no data shared with any cloud or other external system.
The rules and translation output are refined on the fly during translation by adding new rules or adapting existing ones where needed.
It only works as a Plugin for Trados Studio 2026 and with its rules it automatically formats units and all kind of strings (designation of norms and standards) with the correct no-break hyphens, spaces, word joiners and the like for German, French and Luxembourgish according to official grammars, DIN standards, ÖNORM standards, ISO standards and laws (where applicable) to make sure the words don’t get wrapped and therefore their meaning changed. These must never be removed from the text. Upon request I can convert them to the respective unicodes for specific documents (json, html, aso.) if they cannot be rendered correctly.
It also strips the comma before company forms like Ltd. as this is not allowed in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg due to some laws which in short say that the name of a company (if used with the legal form) must be the very same as in the official register, else it’s a fantasy name and therefore can be seen as intent to mislead the consumers. The comma is allowed in English, but not in German and Luxembourgish.
It works with existing TMs and therefore repetitions are not counted at full rate.
For translations from German to Luxembourgish and Dutch to Luxembourgish, results are best right now and we can therefore offer lower rates to direct customers/non translation agecies of up to 30% lower than regular rates. (around 0.085 EUR per word)
English to Luxembourgish and French to Luxembourgish are a lagging a bit behind with adding rules for each term, so the discount is only around 20%. (around 0.095 EUR per word)
The more we translate for a client, the better the rules get and the lower the rates will fall.
First off as a reminder: translators are not only simple translators but they must also be able to counsel their partners about national laws for the target language if e.g. some product claims in the source text are not allowed in that country.

Native languages: Luxemburgish, German, French
Being from Luxemburg where I grew up and lived up to when I was 19, I know 4 foreign languages (German, French, English, Spanish) we had to learn at school, whereas German and French are considered as mother tongues in Luxemburg and as my father is Italian I also know that language quite well.
I also attended school in Belgium for one year, were I got the opportunity to learn Dutch.
In Austria, where I live since 1997, I also took Japanese and Arabic courses and studied translator at the University of Vienna.
2005 I started my own translating agency and have access to my own network of freelance translators for fast and professional translations.
2019 I became official external linguist for the Luxembourgish language reform.
