Bio

I am a British freelance professional translator, with over 10 years of experience in the industry, currently based full-time in Guadalajara, Mexico. I graduated from the University of Birmingham, UK in 2008 with Second Class Honours in BA Hispanic Studies (Translation, Literature and Linguistics) and have since enjoyed a diverse professional career in translation, education, human resources and administration.

Over the last 7 years of my translation career, I have built up a portfolio of long-term regular clients, both agencies and direct clients, in the UK, USA and Latin America. I have been fortunate enough to participate in an extremely diverse range of interesting projects for NGOs, legal firms, government bodies, multinational companies, medical institutes and national tourism departments.

Some of my most notable work to date includes:
- Official government legislation and regulation for new EU Electricity Tariff
and Excise Duty Regulations of the National Energy Commission of Spain.
- High volume translation for renowned museum in Mexico City – archives, displays, exhibits
and pieces.
- UN project covering EU policies for torture prevention campaigns
- Transcription and translation of interviews for Sky Sports and the Guardian Newspaper (UK)
of high-profile Latin American and Spanish footballers
- High volume tourism material (digital and print) for Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism and
Tourism Board – monthly magazine, newsletters and advertising material.
- Business strategy documents and manuals for NGO’s such as World Vision and Habitat and
Humanity
- Corporate and HR documents for MAPFRE, the largest insurance company in Latin America.
- Book translation “The Moon Knows my Secret” for Mexican fiction author Abril Quintero.

I am a certified member of the Organización Mexicana de Traductores (The Mexican Association of Translators), where I completed the diploma "Traducción Ingles > Español" in 2011. I attend their annual translation conference "Congreso San Jeronimo" to connect with other translators and interpeters in Mexico and further my knowledge and skills.

I can guarantee fast, reliable and accurate work and I look forward to building more bridges between the international business world.
