English to Belarusian: Diffuse interstitial pneumonitis with acute respiratory failure General field: Medical Detailed field: Medical: Health Care
Source text - English Diffuse interstitial pneumonitis with acute respiratory failure
Ms E..., Aged 24, was referred to us for respiratory distress.
This young woman, who smoked occasionally, worked in a real estate business. Her medical history
indicated a salpingitis of unknown nature in 2000, an ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and a resolved
bilateral pleurisy in 2005. Since two months she is being treated with alprazolam and escitalopram for
depressive syndrome.
She had a dog and two cats in her residence, and had mentioned that she recently visited Guadeloupe
and Reunion Island. Finally, she indicated the presence of atopy and the appearance of a hereditary
angioedema in her father and her two sisters.
Six days before her hospitalization, she showed symptoms of flu with dry cough, headaches, myalgia,
fatigue, fever and shivering. She self-medicated with paracetamol and ibuprofen.
Secondarily, dyspnea occurred which became more intense and made her consult the emergency
department of a hospital in the outskirts, after which a treatment with amoxicillin was instituted on her
by the attending physician. The chest x-ray (figure1) showed an interstitial syndrome. There was also
a presence of hypoxemia of 50 mmHg. The patient was then referred to our department where she was
admitted to the Respiratory intensive care Department.
In the beginning, we noticed slight crepitant rales, at two levels. The hypoxemia had been set right,
under 6 litres of O2. The complete blood count recorded a leukocytosis at 17 800, of which 15, 660 was
neutrophilic leukocyte, 1 100 lymphocyte and 210 eosinophilic leukocyte, asso-ciated to an inflammatory
disease with a protein C reactive to 241.
