I am a Cairo-born native speaker of Arabic who speaks and writes fluent English. My exposure to the English language started at the tender age of 3 when I joined St. Clare's College. I was taught proper English as it should be taught by native American and Canadian nuns who were keen on making their students not just learn English but live English. In my teenage, my father was a member of the diplomatic mission in the peaceful Sultanate of Oman where my spoken English immensely improved through constant contact with native English speakers during the endless social functions characteristic of diplomatic life.
My college education made me continue to "live English" as I studied for 4 years at the American University in Cairo where speaking English was the order of the day in and out of class. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication with High Honors, specializing in Advertising and Public Relations, with a minor in Political Science.

I joined the ranks of translators about 16 years ago, working in diverse fields, with an emphasis on Religion and Social Sciences. The bulk of my work for the past 13 years has been reviewing and proofreading the work of a group of certified Arabic to English translators for 2 renowned Islamic websites. I am also very confident with American slang since my husband happens to be a US citizen. He is an English language instructor and professional translator like myself, so obviously he's an invaluable asset to my work.

Quality, extreme attention to detail and punctuality characterize my work. I view each new assignment as a challenge with a determination to win that challenge.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Perhaps our work paths will cross one day. My sincere wishes of success to all colleagues.
