As we understand Stadler prefers to do all its systems integration in-house, we could offer “only” to deliver hardware with integration manuals.
The following main observations bring us to propose more then “just hardware”, but rather aim for a wider partnership.
Firstly, ever more orders are placed with little leadtime (example the Veolia DMU), pushing the need to have system integration options “pre-engineered on the shelf”.
Secondly, more and more countries are planning migrating to ETCS. As such, a single source of supply for multiple countries, with the related cost savings of larger numbers, would benefit the competitiveness of Stadler.
Thirdly, there is the emergence on the market of multi-country operators (Arriva, Veolia, First Group, etc) and lessors (Angel, Mitsui, CB Rail, etc.) who should benefit from standardisation across multiple countries.
When combining the above, we see enough reasons to discuss more then hardware delivery, and hope you will share your views with us.
