I will keep this short and to the point:
– Native Swede and freelance translator EN > SV on several major sites (UpWork/Freelancer) since 2009, but primarily for a handful of
renowned agencies in the EU/UK/worldwide via my own firm
– Background in Media studies / Communication / Linguistics / Literature / English from Lund University, Sweden
Having over 15 years of translation experience EN > SV in various fields, though mostly marketing and IT tech-related, for a plethora of clients, I believe I would be a good fit for your pool.
From July 2013, I was contracted as a full-time consultant for a rather large IT company in the valley, where I, together with a handful of other
Swedes, maintained and developed a database that contains over half a billion different topics. This included large amounts of terminology
research, reading and mailing, apart from the actual localisation.
As of August 2016, I have however, as a sole trader, decided to exclusively take on various translation/localisation tasks for companies mainly residing in the EU full-time. Clients include Amazon, Dell, Google, HP, Corsair, Pinterest, Huawei, Ricoh, Shutterstock, BMI, Hitachi, Genesys, HubSpot, Dropbox and many more. Currently, I am also the Swedish language lead for an upcoming Australian company, having Meta as their main client.
My main areas of expertise are marketing/PR, IT, software documentation, audio devices, literature, games and arts/music. I use CAT tools such as Trados 2021/2024, memoQ and Wordfast daily, as well as Smartling, XTM, TWS, Alchemy Catalyst, SDL Passolo, Phrase (formerly Memsource) and QA Linguist regularly, and appreciate solid communication with project managers to ensure consistent quality throughout.
