The carrier for the employer in this case is The Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania (the "carrier"), and the claim is being administered on behalf of the insured by the representative Underwriters Adjustment Company.
The Claimant’s April 22, 2014 Injury and Its Aftermath
The claimant worked for the employer as Mechanic in the country of Afghanistan. Claimant was subjected to an IDF attack on site at Bagram Airfield where he was located in a truck. The Claimant sustained injuries to the face, right neck, hand, hip, left calf, and chest. The Claimant received first aid treatment in Afghanistan and underwent surgery for exploration of the right neck and cheek wounds with wound debridement of the right hip and left calf. The Claimant was then evacuated to his HOR in India.

Outside Side Rear View
Mirrors
The outside rear view mirrors provide a better rear vision and must be adjusted to required position before driving.
Bumper
Three piece construction of bumper with in-built two footsteps for comfortable windshield cleaning facilitates repair works apart from providing safety during collision. Chequered steps provided at a lower height reduce the effort during alighting and climbing the vehicle.
The chequered steps provide extra grip and prevent accumulation of dust and mud in cabin.
Windshield
The windshield glass has higher side curvature and it is pasted which prevents beading ageing related problems such as leakage, glass rattling apart from better side visibility.
Front Cabin Lid
The cabin front lid can be opened by pressing the button (1). Press the button using a suitable device (ex.screw driver) to avoid injuries.
Follow the below front lid operating procedure.
1. Lift the front lid (2) to engage the stay rod (3) to the front wall bracket.
2. Lift the front lid (2) to disengage the stay rod (3) from the front wall bracket.
3. Hold the front lid.
4. Fix the stay rod back to home position on front lid.
CAUTION
During operation, do not pull the stay rod from ball joint as it may damage the front lid panel or stay rod ball joint permanently.
CAUTION
Not beyond 40 mm from stay rod engaged position during disengaging the stay rod.
Spring Brake Actuator
The spring brake actuator is located on the rear axle and is used for brake actuating. In case of emergency situations it can be released when there is insufficient pressure in the brake system by loosening the nut (1) using a 24mm spanner in order to drive the vehicle to the nearest dealer
Service Brake
Excessive brake lining clearance is not recommended as it can reduce brake performance. The brake lining should be checked frequently for wear out through the window located on the brake assembly back plate.
Engine / Exhaust Brake System
The exhaust/ engine brake is an additional brake system to be used whenever the vehicle is descending a long slope or downhill. The exhaust brake can be engaged by pressing the switch in the dashboard.
CAUTION
The spring brake actuator should be repaired only by an authorised dealer.
CAUTION
The brake lining should be replaced once the lining edges wears out closer to the brake shoe.
WARNING
Dirty brake liner and brake drum can hinder effective braking resulting in accidents.
Always carry out an effective brake test before operating the vehicle in public roads.
Follow the below procedure for locating and positioning of Jack spacer.
1. Position the jack spacer as shown in the above art.
2. Holes on the spacer should be aligned with the bracket bolts.
3. Ensure that the projection in the jack spacer has to go inside the cavity of braket.
4. Jack should be placed on the below the flat surface of the spacer for lifting.
WARNING
Use the jack only to raise the vehicle for a short time and perform a tyre change. Do not use any other points for jacking other than specified. Do not use the vehicle jack instead of stands. There is a danger that the jack could give away and vehicle can slip and cause accidents.
CAUTION
Fitting the jack spacer reversely (Projected area outside), may cause the spacer breakage.
If your vehicle breaks down:
1. Drive your vehicle and park it on side of the road if it is in drivable condition.
2. Switch on the hazard warning lights in case your vehicle causes an obstruction.
3. Place the warning triangle on the front and back of the vehicle to alert the approaching traffic.
4. If possible, keep your sidelights ON. If it is dark or visibility is poor do not stand or let anybody else stand between your vehicle and approaching traffic.
