I am a freelance copy-editor/proofreader, specialising in written content for businesses, the publishing industry and academia.

Although I primarily work in British English, I also have some experience with US English and Australian English (to a lesser extent). Since going freelance, I have worked on many different types of written content and subjects, including academic essays, articles and books, some of which were written by those for whom English is not their first language, as well as translated business newsletters, website wording, business reports, marketing brochures and more besides.

Prior to beginning my freelance career, I honed my skills in the 20 years I spent working in IT (ultimately working as a business analyst and bid writer/manager), during which time I reviewed, edited and proofread many of my colleagues documents, as well as writing my own. So, as you would expect, my key area of expertise is in proofreading/editing IT-related business documents. I am comfortable working with documents written in both technical and business language. However, I am more than happy to proofread/edit works on a variety of other subjects.
